Making a Splash; Using a Paddle Board in the Pond!

Here’s a unique solution to a Pond Committee problem: There was too much overgrown vegetation in the pond, with many dead leaves and stems from pond plants.

Janet and her committee members theorized that the dead vegetation was adding to the sludge on the bottom of the pond as seen by the buildup on the rocks and the bottom. They needed to devise a method of reaching the plants in the middle of the pond.

This is difficult because we do not walk in the pond due to concerns about rocks penetrating the vinyl plastic liner.  So they recruited Janet’s son-in-law and his paddle board along with his two daughters. They figured the standup paddle board, which floated easily, would give the girls access to the plants.

And it worked! That’s creative problem-solving!
